    Hi,

When I import a model I got from 3d warehouse and altered the sketchup file, just leaving main stage parts. brought it into WYSIWYG and it makes it run very very slow. Any ideas why this would happen my specs are listed below.

If I run WYSIWYG and select the option to reduce polygons to 80% I end up with a run out of memory.

    Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81GHz
    32 GB Ram
    64-Bit Op system
    475 Gb Hard drive SSD
    1.81 TB Hard drive

    Hi Greggr,

hard to say without looking at the sketchup file. have you tried the consolidate mesh option?
if you can attached the sketchup file, then I could have a look for you?

    ciao

    Hi Greggr,

there is a lot of geometry in this sketchup that is better to build in WYG.
all the staging, trussing and audio.
if you get rid off all of that and all the lighting units that are in there.
then is is a pretty workable file.
I have the wyg here for you

    hope this helps

    Hi,

I am unable to open that file as I only have R42 a 4 universe student version. As when I enquired if there is an R43 student version I was told not yet and there isn't the likely that there will be one.

    Hi Greggr,

I see, but, if you clean up the Sketchup file and only keep the castle element.
not the trusses and not the PA, lights and stage.
then the file is not that heavy. and easy to import.
then once you have it in WYG select it and consolidate mesh. (ctrl-q)

    this worked for me.
(student version, so I can show you the way, not do the work for you....)
    Ciao
