    I don't recall ever seeing anything like this (but of course that's not to say this is not a problem). Please send the file in which you are experiencing this to t e c h s u p p o r t @ c a s t - s o f t . c o m so I can analyze it.

What is it that you are trying to get a total for -- the total number of DMX channels required by your rig?

    Regards,

    Hi Dany,

    Thank you for your answer.
I just send you an email with the file.
And yes, what I need to get is the total number of DMX channels in my rig. Here is an example but I can have more DMX channels than normal desks can handle without an additional DMX processor (like an NPU or DP8000) or an additional lighting desk.

    Thanks

Thanks for sending the file, Yoann.

I see what’s going on.. this is not a bug, but something we’ve never considered before (so we never programmed wysiwyg to do this). We should be able to make the necessary additions for this to work properly though, so I’ve added this to the list for a near-future version. I definitely see how this would be very useful.

What you can do in the meantime as a workaround, is the following:
    1. Create a new Spreadsheet in DATA mode.
    2. Access its View Options > Data Options tab.
    3. Uncheck all Column Options except Type and # of Data Channels, and click OK.
    4. Select everything (CTRL+A).
    5. Copy.
    6. Paste into Excel or Google Sheets.
    7. Sum up the “# of Data Channels” column.

    Cheers,

    Dany

Hi, I would love to see this function as well as I need it to specify the amount of outputs of the console or to check if a show can be run on a certain console. The Excel trick works for me, even from a report.

If we are looking at total DMX channels I would like to suggest maybe also adding total parameter counts as well. This would be a great feature to keep an eye on while designing if using a console like the MA series.

I hope the future feature will also work grouped by position, so you can see how many nodes/dmx ports are needed in a certain truss.

Hi, today I wanted this function again. Does someone at Cast has the time to implement this?
And are you serious this was intended behaviour?

How could this ever be useful? Maybe you can enable the basic spreadsheet formula SUM(ABOVE) or SUM(A1:A5)

This is not intended behaviour. It is a bug. Thanks for bringing it to our attention; it will be resolved asap.

When you find issues like this, Floriaan, I once again strongly encourage you to bring them to our attention directly, by emailing tech support (in addition to posting them here).
