    HI,
I am experiencing crashes (whole of WYG closes and I see the desktop)
everytime I switch window layout tabs (those ones at the bottom of the CAD view)
I tried with an empty document. Switching from wireframe to Quad. poof, wyg is gone.
I can make a new custom layout, but then when I click on the TAB, Poof, Wyg is gone.

    on R43
    perform Dongle

    please help

    Sander

    Hi Sander,

This is probably caused by outdated video card drivers. Can you switch to the Flight Case tab without crashing? What if you created a Custom Tab which doesn't contain a Shaded View pane--can you switch to it without crashing? If the answer to both these questions is 'yes' (i.e. there is no crash) then the crash is caused by the Shaded View not being able to be initialized (shown on screen). Such issues are typically resolved by installing the latest video card driver, as described here: http://forums.cast-soft.com/index.p...n-on-fixing-shaded-view-problems-crashes.302/.

Please let me know if you continue to experience crashes after this,

    Dany

    Hi Dany,
I had already done all of that, apart from the flightcase tab.
the drivers are on the latest Nvidia version.
the crash still happens albeit less frequently. it now takes 3 or 4 times of changing tabs before it crashes.

it seems to have nothing to do with shaded view, when I am in desing mode (via the tabs at the top, which do work. mostly)
    the software behaves as expected.

all of this is with an empty file again...

    thanks
    Sander

    Hi Danny,

for a sort of related issue, now the software crashes (same as before, just POOF, gone)
when I insert a mountable yoke.
This happens on two different computers...

    please help,

    Sander

    Hi Sander,
Please try resetting your UI by clicking on ‘Reset my UI to Default’ from the Welcome screen under Help>Support. Please note your toolbar positions will be reset to default.
If it still crashes please email us your system specs [by clicking on Help>Support> Computer Information – then click the email link]

    Regards
    Darren

Do you need to completely uninstall the previous (non 64 bit) versions of Wyg? Could it be that there are some .net framework files are in need of a Windows update (or that they just got updated by windows)

    Hi Sander,

Please do send me your system specs (as mentioned before via Help>Support) so I can investigate further. Also do let me know if the crash is specific to a particular mountable yoke.

    Regards

    Hi all,

for continuity, the issue of crashing when I change window layout was solved by resetting the UI like Darren said.
the Yokes seem to be a bug in the R43 version, as Darren can replicate it in the office.
solution seems to be that if you really need a yoke to work, send an email to tech support and they will help out.
    until there is an update.
    ciao

    Sander

Thank you for your update Sander -- I have not seen the same issues as you, but it's great to keep this post updated if others see the same.

    Have a good day
