On occasion, users experience crashes when changing fixtures' operation Mode. (This is done from the fixture's/fixtures' Properties dialog > Fixture tab > Options subtab.) This is quite a rare occurrence, and simply involves making WYSIWYG run in Windows XP Service Pack 3 Compatibility Mode. To do this:

    1. Exit WYSIWYG.
    2. Right-click on the WYSIWYG shortcut on the desktop (or in the Windows Start menu) and select Properties.
    3. In the window that appears, click the Compatibility tab.
    4. Click the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" checkbox.
    5. Click the dropdown below this checkbox and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)".
    6. Click OK to save the changes and close the Properties window.
    7. Run WYSIWYG again.
It is perfectly safe keep the "Run in XP SP3 compatibility mode" option enabled for the application, because it does not change or affect operation in any way. (Note that you may have to re-enable this if you ever reinstall this version WYSIWYG, and/or when you install a new version.)
