    Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to convert a pipe that was brought in from a DWG file and converting that to a wyg pipe? Basically I was wondering if there is a way without needing to redraw all my pipes with the pipe tool. I have tried breaking the object into lines, but then it was broken to become way too many individual lines, so the pipe creation wasn't clean. Please help!

If the pipe from the DWG file is anything but a Line object, it cannot be converted to a wysiwyg Pipe object. (In wysiwyg, Pipes are Line objects with special properties; this keeps their impact on performance at a minimum.. they APPEAR as "long cylinders" but are not that.) Therefore, if you can somehow make VW Pipes as Line objects, once you've imported them as such, you can convert them to Pipes with the Convert > Lines into Pipes command found in wysiwyg's TOOLS menu. I do not know if VW has such a function, but I am not a VW user... there are a number of Forum users who are though, so maybe someone else can offer some suggestions there.

If you haven't done so already, since you are a new user of wysiwyg I recommend going through the Quick Start Guide to familiarize yourself with wysiwyg's idiosyncrasies; this Guide is installed together with wysiwyg and you will find it in the Windows Start menu. In addition, you may wish to sign up for our free introductory webinar. (In fact, I suggest attending this first, and then going through the Quick Start Guide.) Training is available as well, of course, should you be interested. Please see https://cast-soft.com/training/ for more information.

    Cheers,

    Dany

Got it! In VW the 3D pipes are like the cylinders with multiple lines, but you can generate 2D pipes/lines to exist in 3D plane. Which is why I think some of my pipes that transferred had less lines than others. I tried breaking the ones that are long cylinders but almost all the lines weren't the full length and it was just choppy and too many lines to navigate through. I will check out the guide for sure. Thank you for the helpful response!
