    Hello everyone,

Hopefully someone can help me with this:

What I'm trying to do is basic CAD 101 but I can't seem to find the problem..
    I have a surface which is sized as x= 40'10" , y=2'11"1/4 and z=11'8"
Drawing the surface on the XY axis is fairly straightforward.
Whenever I try to draw the surface on the XZ axis, my surface snaps to Y=0.

Uploaded images with description for a better understanding.

    Thanks a bunch

    Hi there,

I'm not sure what you mean by a surface sized with those values.. is this a triangular surface you are attempting to draw and are the numbers you specified the coordinates of the three points of the triangle--i.e. (40’10”,0,0) is the first point, (0,2’11”1/4,0) is the second point and (0,0,11’8”) is the third?

You write "Whenever I try to draw the surface on the XZ axis, my surface snaps to Y=0".. I believe you meant eh XZ plane that's created by the X and Z axes, correct? If so, what you are experiencing is perfectly normal, unless you've actually changed the Missing Coordinate (which for the XZ plane is the Y-axis), but you're still snapping to Y=0 despite having set it to something else. Is that the case? (If you do not know what I am referring to by "the Missing Coordinate", I suggest following through the WYSIWYG Getting Started Guide so you can learn the basics of using the software.)

    Regards,
