    Hi guys

In R31, the ability to do 3D text was added. I remember I, at the time, found a way to do it (maybe via the release notes or something), but I can't seem to find it.

How do I transform text to 3D shape?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Bo,

Sorry, but WYSIWYG never had this option (and it is not one that we are considering adding). If you'd like to draw the letters by hand, using Surfaces, and then Extrude them, you can, but I don't think it's worth wasting your time as such. Instead, I suggest using a 3D modelling software which has specific functions built-in to create this kind of stuff. I know for sure that Newtek's Lightwave 3D does it (with an absolutely brilliant interface that they didn't change since I started using the software back in 1992, because it was perfect even then), I believe Sketchup does too and I can't imagine software such as 3D Studio MAX or Maya or anything along those lines doesn't have something similar.
