Is there a way to highlight a seating area in Vivien to show a guest where their seat is located? Thanks, Jayson
Hi Jayson, There is no way to do this at this time, but it is certainly something we can look into adding in the near future, perhaps for Vivien 2022. However, I wanted to ask.. how would you use such a feature? First, it sounds like you would want this for single seats (since you wrote "show a guest", i.e., used the singular form, not the plural). ... But would you also want to be able to highlight multiple seats at once (for example, an entire seating section, or all the chairs around a table -- for cases when a group attending an event wants to sit together)? Second... ... Is it supposed to be in real time (e.g., centre a view on a particular seat while sharing your screen on a Zoom call)? If so, I assume you would want to see this in the Virtual View (in addition to the Wireframe), no? ... Is it supposed to be for exporting PDFs from the Layouts tab with a different seat (or section/table) highlighted in each screenshot and sending that to each of the guests (or group)? ... Or both of the above? Thanks, Dany
À workaround would be to use a shaded view of the seating and make the seats light emitting, patch them to different DMX addresses and make them light up with a light desk or artnet button station.
Good ideas, Floriaan, and this would definitely work in WYSIWYG, but Vivien does not connect to consoles. It does feature Light Emission though (Static only) and that is likely what we would piggyback on for this feature -- no need to reinvent the wheel, right? But I'm waiting for @Jayson Tomasheski to get more insight into how such a feature would be used.
Hi all, I just used table and seat numbers through guest management tool. However, is there a way make create a seating area that is concentric? I am in a situation where I need the seating layout to form to the arc. I know that this ability is present in Vectorworks, but I don't know about Vivien. Thanks,
This is not possible with the Seating Wizard at this time; the improvement is on the list, but I do not know if it will come to Vivien 2022. @Jayson Tomasheski, since you didn't say anything more about it, am I correct to guess that highlighting a seating area is no longer important to you (or a feature you require)?
