    Hello,

I am having trouble importing fixtures. I have made pipes and given them their position names and made sure my fixture positions matched the position names. The fixtures successfully posted, but they all have their own individual pipes and it didn't take on the X,Y,Z coordinates correctly. Can you tell the lighting fixtures to be attached to specific wyg positions already created while you are updating the worksheet from importing fixtures in wyg?

    Hi again Nina,

The fact that each imported fixture gets its own pipe is noted at the end of point 13 of the Importing DWG/DXF Files section. What you are asking for is not possible.

If I may make a suggestion: since you are just starting to learn wysiwyg, I think it would be more beneficial for you to create a file from scratch, based on what you learned from the Quick Start Guide & webinar, rather than to import.

This is one of the situations where Copying or Dragging over multiple fixtures at once would come I handy.

@Floriaan , in another thread, http://forums.cast-soft.com/index.php?threads/how-to-change-trusses.1025/#post-3187, I mentioned that these features might be coming this year. Well, I am happy to announce that they WILL be coming -- and to R45 at that! :D I am actually right now in the process of acceptance testing the work that's been done so far on this, and it's looking really good!

However, this will not help in the case of imported fixtures, because it will only be possible to relocate/clone fixtures from a single, Assembled truss structure and the same chord, or from a Pipe, to another of the same (though it will be possible to go between the two, as well as from one truss chord to another on the same truss). At least that's what's been done so far, and more may be developed for R45 or after.

We've been working on the imported fixtures dilemma for some time, but haven't come up with a good solution yet. It's possible that we will though, as we work more on the Relocate/Clone feature.

There we go.. some good news, I hope for everyone's Friday!
