Hi. Is there a way to import a reference dwg so it get's updated in wyg when it is changed/updated? And also export? Thanks in advance.
Hello Pontus, Thanks for your question. This is not possible because .dwg files are not native to WYSIYWG; something like this can only be done with AutoCAD. (I will check with Soft. Dev. though, in case I am wrong; if their answer is different, if they say that this IS possible, I will come back here to let you know.) Regards,
X-Ref files are used in AutoCAD also to separate large chunks of layers assigned to different teams. This makes it easier to collaborate. All the set layers for instance could constantly change without having to delete the layers from the plot and re-importing them when a new version arrives. It also helps keeping the plots/files much ‘lighter’. Currently this is not possible in wysiwyg, but this could be a nice addition. It could also help a lot to take this kind of working method in mind when designing an improved way of merging wysiwyg files. (Replace existing layers could be a checkbox, that makes it easier in the case I described above)
