Hi all, Is it possible to attatch a square truss pod atleast 3 Axis ? I'm trying to simulate a square truss pod 2x2M with 4 Kinesys hoists, one on each corner. Also tried 4 linear axis simulating each hoist but not sure how to lock the axis individually then there is attaching them all 36 pods in total with 144 hoists. Or is there a better way to do this.. Please advise. Cheers Al
If you use motion frames you can do this with one frame per pod Draw -> Frame place the frame in the middle of your pod in CAD view, and then assign the truss to the frame in the general tab of the truss structure properties In the motion ranges tab of your frame properties, you'll want to disable X/Y direction and Z rotation, then limit your Z direction to your vertical movement range, and set your x/y rotation to something in the -80 to 80 range to get a range of motion similar to what can be expected in real life This will get you close, but you can still do things that would be outside the confines of reality if you try. I attached a show file (R41) demoing this.
This is a very interesting matter. To Cast team: Do you think it would be possible in one of the next versions to have like a hoist with control? So we can assign two hoists @ a single truss and Wysiwyg can calculate the rotation of the truss? Very much like controling the chain height in the hoist via a Dmx channel or something like that. This would be game changing
