    Hi Jayson,

What sort of tips are you looking for? There is not much to it.. the tool of choice for this Extrude or, if you need to texture the resulting surface or do anything else "fancy" with it, Extrude Objects. Both of these are among the most basic 3D tools, found in all 3D software, and are described in the wysiwyg Reference Guide.

If you don't mind my suggestion, Jayson, you may wish to look into one of our training courses, https://cast-soft.com/training/. That's probably the fastest way to learn how to use the software -- and to use it "right" (i.e. as opposed to learning on your own, and potentially developing bad techniques which will be hard to drop in favour of more efficient ones down the road). Just a thought.

    Cheers,

    Dany

Thank you for the suggestion and I will look into taking advantage of those training classes. In the meantime, the I am just looking to extrude a shape into a solid, which when drawing a polygon or rectangle is no problem. When I need a shape containing an arc, I am only allowed to extrude the lines as surfaces, and not a solid. Is there a way to combine the arc with the line to make one shape that can be extruded as a solid? The Vectorworks method is poly line tool or adding a surface. I am thinking that wyg should be as easy. Thank you for your time

No worries, Jayson. I believe Extrude Objects will do just what you need with the Arc. The is no way to "combine" an extruded Line and an extruded Arc but you can Group them, of course, or, if you only ever need to select them at the same time but don't want them Grouped, you can create a Selection Set for them.
