Is there a resource anywhere in either this forum or elsewhere where some wonderful souls have created different venues that are shareable? Obviously it'd be great to have specific rooms built out if need be, but even a better version of the generic venues would be super helpful. perhaps if the generic built in venues had some kind of built in colors/textures, it would be easier to expand from there rather than white surfaces?

I know this topic came up a few years back. and as bad as it sounds Sketchup or people volunteering their own models were the only 2 real choices.
It would be nice to have a one stop resource to find venues. it would save hours of leg work. but it would most likely come with a fee as even from my collection of venues it be days worth of work to just hand over and in some cases it be giving the upper hand that others bypass to others.

I don't disagree with the idea of wanting to keep named venues held to the vest, I TOTALLY get that. I'm suggesting that a more comprehensive set of 'venues' be implemented in future versions of Wyg, with textures stock to Wyg, available as stock in the app. A generic theater (which exists, but needs texturing), a shed/amphitheater, etc. IDEALLY (This is largely for the US/Canadian market, but applicable elsewhere) to see a couple of the most basic mobile stages included. I understand that there's a lot of the parts for some of the more popular 4-posters already in the truss library, but I'm thinking more like having an SL320/SAM575/SAM750, etc prebuilt, mostly so we know the most efficient places to hang truss from. I CAN and HAVE built the generic roof of these things before, but it's a whole lot easier for something like that to be built in.

Stage Line I 100% agree with. This is a common festival or quick show thing now a days.

Also remember that adding such a option with texturing and what not will greatly increase the install app.
So having a resource so find or add venues is a good idea. Including them as a install option may be better served as a separate download much like the Vivian library.

I know Peter been working on several Stage Line items. so first step is check with the library department and see if they do have any available.

Stage line Cad's are heavily detailed. much more than Wyg needs. So streamlining the cad file is always an option but time is never on our side, more so with how current state of show development times are (busy)

Is it really though? The theater and arena venues are already there, why not just add the textures in straight away? It's effectively just a setting in the surface appearance?

Why not check out the 3d warehouse website, where you can find some great prebuilt 3d venues complete with textures and all. Also I know that a few rental companies have Vectorworks or autocad drawings of their mobile stages available.

I do agree that - since the average Wysiwyg machine has come a long way since the current library items where included - an upgrade to the standard theatre items is long overdue.
