sorry Dany, this is all done in the demo version. Just testing features that I was keen to see. Big improvement over my old 2015 intel mac, apart from the inability to hit save!
Hi everyone, Many of you have been waiting for an update about running WYSIWYG (and Vivien) on ARM64-based Mac systems, so here it is. Not to repeat myself, but, regrettably, ARM64 drivers for WYSIWYG and Vivien dongles are not available – and, from what we know, no such drivers will be released by our dongle manufacturer in the near future. As such, WYSIWYG and Vivien will require a different licensing/security solution in order to run on these systems (i.e., Macs featuring M1, M2 and future ARM64 CPUs). We have been working away for a long time now at trying to solve this problem for you and hope to have the full solution available by the second half of 2023. This solution is a cloud-based licensing/security system. We have been testing such a system with our educational products to prove viability, and we are now in the process of adding it to all our products. Everything going well, we will be able to share more information about all this by the end of December 2022. In case you are wondering, our intent is not to do away with the current dongle solution any time soon, but to have it co-exist with the new cloud based security system. Thank you for your patience and understanding, Dany
Hi Dany and colleagues, What is the status now? I'm looking forward to be part of testing WYG with MacOS via Parallels. For me, a second (Windows) machine is not an option in my daily jobs. Please let me know who I can contact so that I can test quickly and use WYG. Best regards, Michael
Hi, Still waiting for any update. Please let us know what to expect in the coming weeks. Regards, Michael
Hi everyone, I have some really great news to share with you today! As you know, we have been working to develop a version of wysiwyg which can be installed and run on Windows 11 ARM Edition, within Parallels, on ARM based Mac systems. This is currently being tested, and once testing is complete (we expect no longer than another week) it will become available to everyone who needs/wishes to run wysiwyg on an M1/M2/M3 Mac (again, under Windows 11 ARM Edition, within Parallels.) This will be possible due to the efforts of our development and testing teams, who have been working tirelessly over the last few months to add a cloud security licensing solution to wysiwyg. (Cloud licensing does not replace dongle licensing – it is simply another method by which wysiwyg is secured/licensed.) This work is not yet complete, but rather than wait until it is so, since we know how many of you have been waiting to be able to run wysiwyg on your ARM based Mac, we have decided to release a temporary Trial Cloud License version, which will allow you to run wysiwyg on *one* computer. (It goes without saying that work will continue on a full cloud license solution, which will allow you to use a cloud license on multiple computers.) An important note regarding MA Lighitng’s viz-key: it is currently not possible to use this device under Parallels. This is due to lack of Windows 11 ARM Edition USB drivers for viz-key (the same situation as with our dongles). Since viz-key is an MA Lighting product, they are the ones who could possibly develop such a driver; please contact them for more information. Please stay tuned and look out for an announcement in the next week or so, once the temporary Trial Cloud License is ready. (This announcement will be posted here, so if you haven’t yet subscribed to this thread, you may wish to do so.)
I am looking forward to the announcement and instructions on how to install! I was forced into Vectorworks last year and there is not a day goes by that doesn't make me miss WYSIWYG.
Hello everyone, I am thrilled to announce that applications for WYSIWYG Trial Cloud Licenses are now open! If you own an ARM-based Mac and wish to be able to use WYSIWYG within a Windows 11 ARM Edition running within Parallels, please login to the Members Only Area and apply for a license. Wishing you all the best for the Holidays and a happy and healthy 2024! Dany
Should have realised I’d need to renew my membership… will have to wait till the new year cash fairies arrive.
